Bad breath is a problem many people deal with on a regular basis and can have a large impact on your life. Luckily bad breath is a simple problem to solve while also keeping your teeth healthy. 1. Regularly Brush Your Teeth

This might seem like a no brainer to you but you should be brushing your teeth at least two times a day. If you have bad breath it could be from plaque building on your teeth and collecting bacteria. By brushing your teeth regularly you can solve this problem and also clean out any trapped food.

Although there is some controversy about how large of an impact flossing can have on your teeth it can definitely help with keeping your teeth clean. Flossing once a day is a great habit to have. Most of us know which food can lead to bad breath, food like garlic and onion are common causes of bad breath. Brushing your teeth is often not enough when trying to keep your breath fresh after eating garlic or onion and we recommend simply trying to avoid them if you need your breath smelling good.

4. Keep Your Tongue Clean

It’s important to keep your tongues clean. You can use a tongue scraper or your toothbrush to gently brush the coating that can form on your tongue. This will remove built up bacteria, dead cells and food debris.

5. Keep Your Mouth Moist

If you feel like your mouth is often dry it’s important to keep it moist. You can do this by drinking lots of water or chewing sugarless gum/candy.

6. Take Good Care of Your Gums

Gum disease could be a cause of bad breath, it’s important to keep your gums healthy. When bacteria gathers in the pockets at the base of your teeth it can cause an unpleasant odour.

7. Avoid Sugar

Sugar is used to make acid by the bacteria in your mouth and can wear down your teeth. If you are wanting to chew something we recommend you chew on sugarless gum instead. Gum is also great for stimulating saliva and keeping your mouth moist. Saliva is a natural defence to plaque acid which can cause tooth decay.

if you smoke you have probably heard that it can be a source of bad breath. Aside from causing bad breath smoking can also lead to many other problems such as cancer, stained teeth and damaged gums.

Rinsing your mouth with mouthwash will help get rid of bacteria and leave a fresh taste in your mouth. Using a good mouthwash that fights against germs causing bad breath is a good way to ensure your breath smells good.
