Dental Crowns in Toronto
Looking for dental crowns in Toronto? If so, look no further! Welcome to the Little Green Building – A leading Toronto Dental Clinic offering a variety of dental treatments.
What are Dental Crowns?
Dental crowns are tooth prosthetics or tooth-shaped caps fitted over natural teeth or dental implants to restore decayed, damaged, worn-out, or weak teeth. They are made of different materials, the most notable being porcelain, gold alloy, or a combination of both materials.
How Dental Crowns Work?
A dental crown is cemented into place to cover the entire tooth. The crown therefore becomes the new outer surface of the tooth, restoring its natural appearance and function. In many cases, some enamel is removed before a crown is fitted and dental cement is used to secure it in place. This process ensures a snug fit.
Who Should Get Dental Crowns?
You may be a great candidate for dental crowns if you have:
- A weak tooth/teeth
- A cracked tooth/teeth
- Worn-out teeth
- Broken/misshapen teeth
- Stained or discoloured teeth
- If you have undergone root canal therapy treatment on a tooth
- If you have a dental tooth implant
Types of Dental Crowns
There are several dental crown types usually categorised based on the type of material that makes them. The main types include:
a. Porcelain Crowns Toronto
- 99% of the crowns we install are porcelain. They are a popular choice because they are incredibly durable and strong crowns.
- stain-resistantPorcelain crowns also offer that natural teeth look indistinguishable from actual teeth.
- Porcelain crowns are highly customisable to match teeth features including natural shade. They are also stain-resistant, comfortable, and low maintenance.

b. Metal Crowns
- As the name suggests, these types of crowns are made using metals like gold, chromium, nickel, and palladium.
- Metal crowns are highly durable, which makes them an attractive choice, but keep in mind their colour doesn’t match natural teeth. For this reason, they may not be suited for visible teeth.
Our Process: How Dental Crowns Are Installed at the Little Green Building
Our dental crown placement procedure includes the following three simple steps:
Step 1: Initial Consultation
You need to book an appointment to undergo an oral exam and find out if you need crowns or other treatment.
Step 2: Dental Impression
On your dental visit, we’ll evaluate if a dental crown is the right process for you. If needed, we begin treatment by taking a digital impression that ensures we make crowns that fit perfectly.
Step 3: Custom Crown and Fitting
The dental impressions taken in step 2 allow us to create the crowns that will fit perfectly. We proceed by preparing the affected tooth to create space for the crown and ensure it bonds perfectly. The impression is then sent to a dental laboratory. Once the crown is ready, we fit it on the prepared tooth and adjust it if needed. We’ll also check for the perfect shape and colour before cementing the crown in place.
Since we have the latest in dental crown technology and materials, our crowns are high-quality, permanent, and capable of lasting a lifetime with proper dental care. Our dental crown treatment process is also comfortable.
There’s obviously more to a dental crown procedure. Find out more about the types of crowns we offer, whether there are same-day crowns, all-porcelain crowns, and more. Click here to send us a message online. You can also call 416-769-8135 or email us at littlegreenbuilding@gmail.com.
What is the Average Dental Crown Price in Toronto?

How Long Do Dental Crowns Last?
Our dental crowns are designed to last a lifetime. However, their longevity can be dictated by a person’s dental care routine. If you follow our care directions, your crowns will last a lifetime.
There may be other factors dictating crown replacement i.e., what happens to the tooth under the crown. Sometimes a crown may need to be replaced after a while due to an infection, tooth pain, etc.
How to Care for Dental Crowns
You should maintain proper oral health hygiene, that is: brush at least twice daily and floss daily to remove all food particles stuck in between teeth. You should also avoid extremely hard, chewy, or crunchy foods as part of your proper care routine.
It’s also recommended to do at least two dental office visits per year for professional dental cleanings. If you suffer from habitual clenching or grinding of teeth, you need to wear a mouth guard to avoid damaging your crowns prematurely
