Nearly everybody has experienced the brutal pain of growing wisdom teeth at some point in their lives.  As these massive molars push their way through your jaw, piercing the gum’s surface, the pain they instill can often be overwhelming.  If this is how you’re feeling right now, take comfort in the fact that, armed with the right knowledge, you will not have to suffer any longer!  Below are 10 tips for erasing wisdom tooth pain from your life, each one as easy and effective as the last.

Apply Ice

Rinse with Warm Saltwater

Another classic treatment, saltwater rinses have been a go-to for oral ailments for as long as many of us can remember.  Like icing, warm saltwater rinses can help reduce gum inflammation, and the pain associated.  In addition, saltwater has the extra benefit of acting as a mild antibacterial solution and can assist in preventing tooth infections or other oral maladies.  It is best, however, to keep saltwater treatments limited to a few weeks, as long-term use can be detrimental to dental health.

Try Baking Soda Paste

Baking soda paste can be made at home by mixing small amounts of baking soda with toothpaste in a container.  When applied directly to the affected tooth, it works wonders at reducing pain and preventing infection.  Just be careful not to overdo it – too much baking soda can also be harmful, and will certainly taste very unpleasant!

Use a Dash of Clove

Clove is a well-kept secret in the world of oral care, as many people have not been introduced to its miraculous, pain reducing benefits. Clove has both antiseptic and antibacterial properties, meaning it provides powerful pain relief and resistance to infection.  Just a dash of clove on the affected area is all that is needed for quick, blissful relief.

Treat the Gums with Tea Bags

Tea has natural anti-inflammatory properties, and these will be conferred onto your gums when the bag comes into contact with them.

For added health benefits, don’t forget to drink lots of it too!
